Sir Charles Sebastian Udoh is a senior Nigerian public-sector leader, strategic advisor, and transformation-focused executive with over three decades of experience spanning banking, consulting, entrepreneurship, government, tourism development, brand management, strategic communications, and environmental governance.
He currently serves as Delivery Advisor to the Governor on Tourism and Managing Director of Ibom Hotel & Golf Resort, where he provides strategic delivery oversight for the tourism transformation agenda and leads the repositioning of one of Akwa Ibom State’s most important hospitality assets.
Over the course of his career, he has built a rare profile that bridges both public and private sectors. He has served in multiple commissioner-level roles in Akwa Ibom State Government, including Information & Strategy, Environment, Petroleum Resources, Solid Minerals, and Culture & Tourism, leading initiatives in policy, regulation, destination marketing, communications, institutional reform, infrastructure, and stakeholder engagement.
Before public service, he held senior brand and communications roles in some of Nigeria’s leading financial institutions, including FirstBank, Guaranty Trust Bank, Diamond Bank, and Wema Bank. In these roles, he led corporate communications, creative services, brand repositioning, campaign strategy, digital marketing pilots, vendor optimisation, and customer service transformation efforts.
He is also the founder of Adam & Agnes Ltd, a brand and marketing communications firm that served notable organisations including ExxonMobil, FCMB, AXA Mansard, LAMATA, AFREN, and CNBC Africa, among others.
Across all these roles, he has remained committed to one enduring idea: institutions matter, systems matter, and meaningful transformation requires both vision and disciplined execution.
I began my professional journey as a trainer and consultant with the Financial Institutions Training Centre (FITC), shaping capacity-building initiatives for Nigeria’s financial sector, equipping professionals with essential skills in organizational performance and leadership. I later transitioned into the financial services industry, where I successfully led brand and communication functions across four major Nigerian banks — Guaranty Trust Bank, First Bank, Diamond Bank, and Wema Bank; driving brand strategy, marketing communications, and customer engagement.
In 2011, I ventured into entrepreneurship, founding Adam & Agnes Ltd, a creative brand and communications consultancy, where I served as Managing Consultant and Chief Ideas Officer. Under my leadership, the firm executed over 100 high-impact marketing communication and public relations campaigns—both locally and internationally—across diverse media platforms and industry sectors.
Distinguished Public Service
I am a three-time Honourable Commissioner in Akwa Ibom State. My forays into public service began in December 2016, bringing my private sector acumen into governance with a focus on citizen engagement and strategic communication.
I have, at various times, held pivotal portfolios, including:
- Ministry of Information & Strategy – Spearheading government communications and policy advocacy.
- Ministry of Environment, Petroleum Resources & Solid Minerals – Driving sustainability and resource management.
- Ministry of Culture & Tourism – Championing heritage, arts, and tourism development.
